Russell T Porter

Russell Porter is the founding partner of Porter Global Services, based in  Washington, DC.  


His  career spans over 35 years in Washington, where he spent over two decades in various leadership roles at USAID, most recently as Deputy Assistant Administrator for Latin America and the Caribbean.  Russell also served at the National Security

Russell Porter is the founding partner of Porter Global Services, based in  Washington, DC.  


His  career spans over 35 years in Washington, where he spent over two decades in various leadership roles at USAID, most recently as Deputy Assistant Administrator for Latin America and the Caribbean.  Russell also served at the National Security Council (NSC) as Director for Central America and Cuba, where he led policy coordination for the region.

 Russell also spent nearly three years on Capitol Hill working for Sen. Sam Nunn (D-GA). 


In addition to his public service, Russell is a professional lecturer and adjunct professor at the George Washington University. Over his career, Russell has worked in over 25 countries and is proficient in Spanish.


A native of Atlanta, Russell is a graduate of Rhodes College and later earned an MA in Latin American studies and international economics from the Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS).
